Zine Award Information
For the first time in its history, The Scranton Zine Fest will be conducting Zine Awards to celebrate the hard work and creativity of those in the D.I.Y. underground arts culture. Below, you will find categories to submit your zine in.
Any zinester and underground comix maker, at any age, in any part of the world, is eligible to participate in the Zine Awards.
Fill out the form on the right, submit electronically, and also print when completed. Mail the printed form in with your zine submissions. Each category is $1 to enter. There are no limitations on number of entries. You may enter one zine in for multiple category consideration as long as you thoroughly explain your reasoning.

The Zine Awards will be judged by a panel of artists and other prominent zine creators or festival organizers. Below is the criteria on which each category will be judged.
All entries are due no later than Monday, May 15, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.
Guidelines and Judging Criteria
Freedom of Expression
Applicants are free to explore any and all topics. There are no pre-defined prompts and no work is ever disqualified from the Zine Awards based of the nature of its content.
Submit work that breaks from convention, blurs the boundaries between genres, and challenges notions of how a particular concept or emotion can be expressed.
Submit work that uses technique to advance an original perspective or a personal vision or voice, and show skills being utilized to create something unique, powerful, and innovative.
Emergence of a Personal Vision or Voice
Submit work with an authentic and unique point of view and style.
